Amber Miller and Liam Schoepel
On Sept. 17, Port Isabel police arrested two suspects allegedly involved in five vehicle burglaries in Port Isabel.
According to police reports, the thefts happened at Shark Tank, Port Isabel High School’s parking lot, Walgreens, Casa Rosa and The Gym.
Witnesses noticed two subjects, one male and one female, looking into cars at a parking lot before finally seeing them get back into their vehicle.
Police obtained a description of the suspects’ vehicle and put all officers on lookout.
Port Isabel Police officer Olga Gutierrez later identified and stopped a vehicle matching the description. The report states that the male suspect’s grandmother was driving the vehicle and identified him as 19-year-old Liam Schoepel. His girlfriend, Amber Miller, 18, was also identified. The two were living in Los Fresnos with the grandmother.
Both were arrested on warrants and are in the City jail awaiting arraignment.
